My Trainer Gave Me Homework!

Had a great workout at the gym today!

Did my own 20-minute treadmill warm-up.  Challenged myself to go faster, knowing I was running for a shorter amount of time.  5min @ 6.0; 10min @ 6.5; 4min @ 7.0; 1min @ 8.0.  Went 2.17 miles.

Met with Trainer Justin.  He put me through a good lifting session:

Elbow Bridge (Plank)/MB Twist/Superman x2

Lat Pull Down/Walking Lunges/Side Shoulder Raise & OH Press x3

Back Extension/Incline Push-Up x2

Kettle Bell Swing/BOSU Ball push-ups x2

I have never used a BOSU ball before.  It’s a great piece of equipment for balance and strength.  Squats and push-ups on a BOSU Ball??!?  Those had me shaking.  As I get stronger, these should become easier!

Trainer Justin also gave me homework — I need to do a strength session on my own.  Since we meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I’ll be doing that workout over the weekend.

Since I had a little time before picking up my 3-year old from preschool, I did another 20 minutes on the treadmill, for another 2.17 miles.

Obviously, I’m not expecting to see much difference in one week.  The extra weight didn’t show up overnight; it’s not going to disappear overnight, either!
